PlayPaid is a gig income management app for musicians and independent contractors. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Data You Enter
You provide gig details, income amounts, employer information, invoices, expenses, and venue and vendor contacts. This data is stored in Apple iCloud (CloudKit) and syncs across your devices using your Apple ID. We do not have access to this data — it lives in your iCloud account, not on our servers.
Device Permissions
Location
PlayPaid uses venue addresses you type in to calculate driving mileage via Apple Maps. We do not access your device's GPS or track your physical location. No location data is sent to our servers.
Contacts
With your permission, PlayPaid can read from and write to your device's Contacts to save venue and vendor information. This data stays on your device and in iCloud. We do not transmit your contacts to any external server.
Calendar
With your permission, PlayPaid can read and write events in your device's Calendar (via Apple EventKit) to sync your gig schedule. This data stays on your device and in iCloud.
Photos
If you scan a pay stub or receipt, the image is processed on-device and discarded after parsing. If you upload a profile photo for your public schedule page, it is stored on our Cloudflare infrastructure.
Authentication
PlayPaid supports Sign in with Apple and Face ID / Touch ID for app lock. Apple handles authentication. We receive only your Apple-assigned user identifier — never your name or email address unless you explicitly choose to share it.
Subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We do not store your payment information.
Public Schedule Page (Optional)
If you choose to publish a public schedule page, the following information is sent to and stored on our Cloudflare infrastructure:
- Your name and tagline
- Upcoming confirmed gig dates, venue names, and cities (no private financial details)
- Optional: bio, profile photo, social links, video URL, accent color
This data is publicly accessible at your unique schedule URL. You control what is published and can update or remove it at any time.
Booking requests submitted through your public page are stored on our Cloudflare infrastructure and delivered to your in-app inbox. We do not use this data for any other purpose.
AI Features
The GigFinder feature uses the Claude API (Anthropic) to suggest venue prospects. Search queries are sent to Anthropic's API. No personal financial data or gig history is included. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising. Data flows only to:
- Apple iCloud — for your own sync and backup
- Cloudflare — only if you use the public schedule page feature
- Anthropic — only if you use the GigFinder AI feature
Data Retention and Deletion
Your iCloud data is under your control via your Apple ID. You can delete it at any time through the app or through iCloud settings.
To delete your public schedule page and booking requests, contact us at the address below and we will remove it from our servers within 7 days.
Children's Privacy
PlayPaid is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as features change. The effective date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
