Up and running in 6 steps

1

Enter your home address

Go to Settings → Profile and add your home address. PlayPaid uses this to calculate driving mileage for every gig automatically.

2

Add your employer (if you have a day job)

Go to Settings → Jobs & Employers and add your W-2 employer with typical shift start and end times.

3

Log your first gig

Tap + on the Gig List tab. Search for the venue, enter the fee, and save. Your mileage estimate appears immediately.

4

Check the Dashboard

The Dashboard tab shows your year-to-date gig income, mileage value, and any unpaid gigs at a glance.

5

Set up invoicing

Go to Settings → Invoice Settings. Enter your business name, invoice prefix, and payment handles. Now any gig can generate a PDF invoice in one tap.

6

Save your first venue to Contacts

Open the gig you just logged and tap Save to Venue Contacts. The address will auto-fill the next time you book that venue.

Common questions

Mileage shows 0 after saving a gig

Mileage calculates at save time using your home address and the venue address. Confirm your home address is set in Settings → Profile and the venue address field isn't blank. If the address is too vague, enter a full street address and re-save. You can also type miles manually before saving.

AI features aren't working or the AI Rank button is missing

AI features require a Claude API key. Go to Settings → Connected Services and check the status of AI Features. If it shows an error, tap Reconnect and re-enter your key from console.anthropic.com. GigFinder AI also requires a Pro subscription.

Google Venue Search setup fails

The most common cause is that the Places API (New) hasn't been enabled for your key. Go to Google Cloud Console → APIs & Services → Library → search "Places API (New)" → Enable it. Google provides $200/month in free credit.

Pay stub import comes back blank or with wrong numbers

Pay stub parsing requires AI Features to be connected. For best results, import a digital PDF rather than a photo of a printed stub. Always review results on the Review Pay Stub screen before saving.

Schedule import can't find my shifts

Go to Settings → Profile → Name and confirm it matches exactly how your name appears on the schedule. Try just your first name if the full name doesn't match. Shoot the photo straight-on with good lighting.

My public schedule page stopped working

Go to Settings → Schedule Page and tap Save & Publish. This re-authenticates and restores the connection. Your URL doesn't change when you re-publish.

The subscription paywall shows blank or won't load

Connect to Wi-Fi or cellular, force-quit, then relaunch PlayPaid. Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall to re-fetch your active subscriptions from Apple.

My invoice logo isn't showing up

Go to Settings → Invoice Settings → Logo section → tap Add Logo to pick from your photo library. Wide, horizontal images work best. Regenerate the invoice after adding a logo.

I restored my phone and my API keys are gone

API keys are stored on your device only and don't transfer in iCloud backups. Go to Settings → Connected Services and tap Reconnect on each service. Your existing keys are still valid — you don't need to generate new ones.

A permission (Location, Contacts, Calendar) was denied and I can't re-enable it

Open the iOS Settings app → scroll to PlayPaid → tap the permission you want to allow.
